Botulism is of course toxic, but when they use only small amounts, they claim it is basically safe and will not use the same serious problems or other problems for that matter. They have been approved by the FDA for various purposes.

History of Botox

Botox was first utilized in its small amounts by Justinus Kerner in 1817. It was described as sausage poison at that time, and Allergan Inc later turned it into a medication for various disorders as well as for cosmetic uses in general terms. It has since been used in various capacities.

Benefits

Botox has been used to treat all sorts of problems such as random muscle contractions and twitches, migraines, blepharospasm, hemial spasms in those over 12, and strabismus as well as asthma, prostatic symptoms, frown lines, wrinkles, muscle pain, obesity, and even in one case a man who had been confined to a wheelchair for 20 years connected to a severe stroke. However, its application to wrinkle fighting has never actually been approved by the FDA, and it is highly dangerous.

Possible side effects

Possible side effects include limited to death, muscle paralysis, drooping eyelids, uneven smile, loss of ability to close the eye, loss of jaw function, focal facial paralysis, muscle weakness, headaches, dysphagia, flu like symptoms, allergic reactions, nausea, muscle weakness, indigestion, heartburn, tooth problems, high blood pressure, difficulty swallowing, upper respiratory infections, neck pain cough, back pain, runny or stuffy nose, soreness at injection site, weakness, dry mouth, drowsiness, bleeding, anxiety, chest pain, speech problems, dry eyes, double vision, and reduced night vision among others.

Conclusion

Botox has been capable of greater things in general. It has been able to treat certain disorders and symptoms. However, it was never actually meant to be used in the treatment of wrinkles. It doesn’t have that application for various reasons. It can easily travel to different areas of the body, and even if used in small amounts, it is still a toxic substance. We would not recommend its use in any case.
