Stanley Jacobs MD Visco-Elastic Transforming Serum
Of all the anti-aging skin creams on the market, Stanley Jacobs MD Visco-Elastic Transforming Serum certainly has the most interesting story. Discovering the formula from ancient Egyptian scrolls which were only partially translated back in 1930, Dr. Stanley Jacobs, a celebrated cosmetic surgeon developed this product after ten more years of additional research. He claims that this product has been in the making for 3600 years.
While a pricey investment at $120 per fluid ounce, who can argue with results? As with any product, we need to look at the ingredients and consumer reviews for a more accurate picture of what this skin cream can actually do, and then we can determine whether this product is worth your time and money.
Pros
This product does have some great things going for it. Dr. Jacobs is a well trusted cosmetic surgeon, and the fact that he dedicated ten years to research this product bodes well. The main ingredient (gleaned from the Egyptian papyri) is called Mandelic acid, a more advanced form of glycolic acid, which is commonly used in facial chemical peels. Mandelic acid is an aromatic alpha hydroxy acid capable of removing dead skin cells while simultaneously stimulating the growth of new cells. This makes your skin look healthier and younger.
Cons
The main issue with Stanley Jacobs MD Visco-Elastic Transforming Serum is that there is no complete ingredient list. The fact that consumer reviews have been largely positive only adds to this confusion. Is there some ingredient that the producers of this skin cream don’t want the public to know about? We would never accuse Dr Jacobs of that, but the fact is that we just don’t know.
Aside from the unknowns of the rest of the ingredients, the steep price for this skin cream is another factor to consider. While $120 per fluid ounce isn’t unheard of in the anti-aging skin cream realm, it may not fit into everyone’s budget.
Conclusion
Taking everything into consideration, we would not recommend this product. It does have an impressive story and the reviews are largely positive, but there are too many unknowns in its ingredients, and it is very pricey.
